Meet Dr. Dunwody
Dan D. Dunwody, D.D.S.
Dr. Dunwody attended Lanier High School for Boys in Macon, Georgia. He continued to the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Dr. Dunwody then entered an orthodontic residency at Emory University School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1977 and his Certificate of Orthodontics in 1979.
Dr. Dunwody has been in practice for 30 years and has lectured on orthodontics to general dentists for the mastership program at the Georgia Academy of General Dentistry. In addition, Dr. Dunwody participates in many continuing education courses involving dentofacial growth and development from embryology to the dentofacial changes as aging occurs, occlusion (bites), temporomandibular joints and associated structures and practice management. Dr. Dunwody states, “The challenges of the information age regarding orthodontic care are both enlightening and challenging. All of us are committed to lifelong learning that will benefit our patients’ care and improving our service and experience.”
Dr. Dunwody also volunteered for 12 years as an Assistant Scout Master and committee member for Troop #648, volunteered for eight years as a soccer coach for West Gwinnett Soccer Club and volunteered for three years as United Way Co-Chairman for dentists in Gwinnett County. In addition to his time volunteering, Dr. Dunwody sponsors and supports the community and his patients’ sporting and cultural activities at over 10 high schools. His other sponsorships include The Cancer Ball of Gwinett County, Ducks Unlimited Banquet and the West Gwinnett Soccer Club.
Apart from scouting and soccer coaching, Dr. Dunwody has several hobbies which include racquetball, boating, hunting and fishing.

- Northern District Executive Council – six years
